Right Now

Right now, I want to change my life, turn it around, take a new path
Right now, I want to be a man, free of self-pity, hate and wrath

Right now, I'm aware though I'm late, there's still a chance to change my ways
Right now, is the time that I should confront my fears, on my knees pray

Right now, I'm think of my life, and all the years now gone to waste
Right now, I know the clock's ticking, and to make it, I must make haste

Right now, depression and sadness are trying to take over my mind
Right now, is the time I will fight these demons trying to make me blind

Right now, I am aware that death creeps closer each and every day
Right now, is the time to take control of what I think, do or say

It is never too late to fulfil the goals one has set out in life. So keep on trying and you will self- actualise. And as the saying goes ' better late than never':)

Thanks for your encouragement and taking time out to read my blog, I appreciate that.

You have exposed yourself on this blog in a way that many people wouldn't be able to do. Your work is genuine and raw. When you publish it will be a great success. However sometimes I am concerned about your frequent use of the term 'death' and hope you are well and only using this in a metaphorical sense.
Have you ever thought about doing open mic? I'd pay to come and listen to your work;)

Thank you.

I honestly haven't thought about why I use the term death, it comes up when I'm writing whatever poem it is at that moment in relation to the topic. But I'll say that I find that I write (best) when I'm unhappy, sad or feeling any negative emotion. I've been advised to write when I'm feeling positive.

Are you based in London? If so I'll invite you when nextI'm going to read my work. Your precense/support would be appreciated. :-)

That person gave you good advise. Your poetry is multifaceted displaying many different emotions so why not tie everything together with a bit of positivism sometimes. Take a happy pill :-) Your readers will also appreciate a bit of roses are red... violets are blue...my world is lovely...yours should be too...! My poetry is crap but i hope you see my point. Bit of a pick me up is good also. Leave the graveyard and take breaks in the flower garden. Then you can return to the tomb to rest..Haha. Never-mind your work is great whatever emotion you choose to base it on.
